My Journey with PTSD: When Fear Triggered Hives

Life is a series of moments, some more challenging than others. In my journey as a content creator, I've often shared the joys of knitting, puzzles, and spending time with my dog, but today, I want to open up about a different kind of moment—one that left me with hives covering over 60% of my body.

The Unexpected Trigger

It all started when I was at home, relaxing with Pharaby by my side, and it was a peaceful afternoon. That peace, however, was soon shattered by an unexpected event. A group of toddlers, curious and perhaps unaware of the impact of their actions, tried to open my front door. The sudden, startling intrusion unleashed a wave of fear and anxiety I had long struggled with due to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

My body's response to this intense fear was immediate and, for me, uniquely physical. Hives began to appear on my skin, rapidly spreading across my body. It was a vivid manifestation of the emotional turmoil that PTSD can bring. While I had learned to manage my PTSD over the years, this incident was a stark reminder of its lingering effects.

PTSD is a silent battle for many, and the physical manifestations of stress, like hives, are not uncommon. Through this vlog, I do my best to raise awareness about the challenges of living with PTSD, and the importance of understanding and support for those who face it.

I hope my story can shed light on the impact of PTSD and inspire others to share their journeys. Let's build a community of empathy and resilience together.

Life's moments, both big and small, shape our stories. My encounter with hives, triggered by an unexpected event, serves as a reminder that healing and resilience are ongoing processes. We're all on a journey, and it's okay to share the ups and downs along the way.

Thank you for being part of my journey.
