This year we decided to participate in Operation Christmas Child. This is a program by Samaritans Purse that collects shoeboxes filled with toys & other items for children around the world. The goal of this program is to allow children to learn about Jesus and what Christmas is really all about. This is their Mission Statement:
"Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ."
I really enjoyed shopping for this box! I had forgotten how fun it is to buy toys & things for little kids. It was even more rewarding this time because I was able to bring Pharaby along to train around toys & things we would otherwise not go around. I made a video documenting our experience too!
