Pharaby isn't just my service dog; she's my best friend. We’re always together, from the moment I wake up to the time I go to bed. Pharaby helps me with life-saving tasks, like managing my PTSD symptoms, but she also supports me in everyday ways that are just as meaningful. Whether it’s snuggling in bed, being by my side while I work, or even helping me feel less alone with her AIC buttons, Pharaby helps make my life feel normal again.
Living with PTSD can be isolating, but having Pharaby by my side keeps me grounded and gives me a sense of companionship that I couldn’t imagine being without. I want to share this story not just as a celebration of Pharaby, but also as a reminder for anyone with a service dog: you're not alone, and the bond you share with your dog is invaluable. Pharaby’s tasks may be for my health, but her presence is a huge emotional support, too.
If you're on a PTSD service dog journey or considering one, check out my PTSD Service Dog Training Resources. I've created guides and tips to help train your service dog, including my book on task training especially for PTSD and psychiatric service dogs. Let Pharaby and I be an encouragement on your path.
