Teaching your dog to recognize and communicate about their body parts isn’t just a fun trick—it can be a vital way for them to tell you when something’s wrong.
Today, Pharaby and I are working on her 'feet.' By pressing a button to say 'feet' and showing me where they are, she’s learning to communicate about this part of her body.
Why is this important? As dogs age, they may experience discomfort, pain, or even injuries that they can’t easily show us. By teaching Pharaby to use buttons to talk about her body parts, I’m empowering her to tell me if she’s ever in pain or feeling unwell. It’s a way of ensuring she can always express herself and get the help she needs, even when I might not immediately notice something’s wrong.
This kind of communication education is a key part of keeping our pets healthy and happy, especially as they get older.
